We are situated in the middle of Sible Hedingham village on the main street.......
The Limes,100, Swan Street.
This is the A 1017 about halfway between Braintree, Essex and Haverhill, Suffolk.
From London and the SouthWest leave the M25 onto the M11 until the Stansted airport junction. Follow the A120 in the direction of Braintree....then follow green signs to Sudbury A131 until a left turn at some traffic lights (white sign now!) onto the A1017, direction Haverhill. Sible Hedingham is about 5 miles along this road after passing through Gosfield.
From this direction we are on the right hand side of the road opposite the Butcher and just before the Shell garage and Coop.
From the South East leave the M25 on the A12 and follow this road to the North of Chelmsford (end of by-pass) where Braintree will be sign posted. Follow the road through to Braintree and when joining the A120 follow signs for Sudbury and then as before.
From the North approaching from the M11 leave at Junction 10 on the A505 to the left. Follow this road until it meets the A11 north....keep to the inside lane and leave A11 within a mile onto the A1307 towards Haverhill. At Haverhill follow signs for Halstead/Braintree on the A1017. In about 10 miles you reach Sible Hedingham, after passing through Sturmer, Ridgewell and Great Yeldham.
From this direction you will find us on the left hand side of the road, just past the Coop and the Shell garage.
From the Ipswich/Colchester Direction:
Take the A12 South towards London
There are two routes.
- Leave the A12 at Stanway on the A1124 towards Halstead. Follow the road through Chappel and
The ‘Colnes’ and, on arriving in Halstead, turn left and then right at the top of the hill following signs to Sible Hedingham. When you meet the A1017 turn right and it is still about a mile into the centre of the village.
- Keep on the A12 until Marks Tey and leave in the direction of Braintree on A120. Follow signs to Braintree and when reaching the bypass turn right, direction Sudbury A131. Then follow green signs to Sudbury A131 until a left turn (white sign now!) onto the A1017, direction Haverhill. Sible Hedingham is about 5 miles along this road after passing through Gosfield.
From both of these routes we are on the right hand side of the road opposite, the Butcher and just before the Shell garage and Coop.
